difference between model inspection and series inspection SAP QM

Hi,

I have understood model inspection but not getting clarity on series inspection...what is this series inspection... in which scenarios it is used..and what is the difference between these two.. can somebody throw some light on this...Thanks in advance

I am trying to understand the functions of control plan and FMEA analysis...I have gone through various links of SAP help but not getting clarity on this...why they are used and when these functionalities are used in SAP QM...what are the benefits of these two...how they are related to each other....can somebody throw inputs on this...from your experience...

QM Tasklists

Hello Experts,

 

I have a question regarding task lists and inspection plans:

 

I have run QP06.

I have hundreds of material numbers shown from the execution. The messages are:

 

No Inspection Plan Available      and       No Task list usage available for inspection type XX

 

but..... when I go into QP02,,,  I see inspection type XX assigned and activated,

 

in MM02  I see Inspect w/tasklist activated

 

..... and when I manually create an insp. lot, it creates it....

 

My question, can you tell me why I'm getting these materials in a QP06 run and the materials look right in MM02, create and insp. lot, and activations ok?

 

Asked another way:

Can you explain the connection between QM tasklists and QM inspection plans?

QM Procurement - First Article inspection

I need some help in First article inspection it is not working as expected.

 

The requirement is first time when I create PO and MIGO it should created inspection type 0101 (sample). Second PO onwards it should create type 01.

 

I setup Status Profile and created Quality Info Record and assigned the Status Profile. I assigned inspection type 0101 and 01.

Supply Profile has Supply relationship Initiated, First Article Inspection & Regular Purchase

 

When I tested my config for first PO when I MIGO it is creating 0101 type this is what I want..

QIF status before UD is Supply relationship Initiated after UD the status changed to First Article Inspection

 

 

For Second PO first partial i get inspection type 01. Second partial it is creating inspection lot 01

For third Partial it is not creating and Inspection lot and the stock is put in unrestricted.

Third or Fourth or any PO i create afterwards and MIGO there is not inspection lot created and the stock is in unrestricted.

 

Did i do something wrong. I appreciate some help when I create any PO and do partial or full it should create inspection type 01 lot.

Two different settings required for an inspection type (HU and Non-HU)

Hello SAP Experts,

I have a situation whereas the user might sometimes want a particular material to be packed (HU managed) or sometimes put in a railcar (bulk - non HU managed). 

 

I am currently using inspection type 04 with Early Lot inspection.  My challenge is that for HU managed receipts, the "Inspection for Handling Unit" flag must be set in order for the Handling Units to go to quality inspection stock.  If I have this flag set and do a normal GR (MB31 or MIGO), then the stock will NOT go to quality inspection.  I thought I might need to create two inspection types and assign them to the same material, but this did not work.

 

I did a search and found 1 posting where the recommendation was to do some development (ABAP).  I can do this, but I was hoping for a standard solution first.  Any ideas?

Early lot creation by product

I've a question about inspection lot creation for by-products (co-products). During production we use the 04 for the early lot creation. So at process order release we create an inspection lot. Sample labels will be printed immediately.

 

During production a by-product will be received as well. The batch number for this by product is known at process order release. I know it's possible to create an 05 inspection lot when the goods receipt of the byproduct is performed. But what i'd like to have is that the inspection lot for the byproduct is created at the moment of process order release. The type of inspection lot is not relevant (04 or 05).

 

So in the end i'd like to end up with two inspection lot. 1 For the main product in the process order and 1 for the by-product.

 

Is this possible with a note or do I need to make an enhancement?

How to link table QASE and field PPLNKN (Number of the task list node)

Hi all!

 

I have to add field PPLNKN (Number of the task list node) to table QASE.

 

Any idea from which table to derive the field? I only see its been used in several structures but I can not find any base table that contains the field to join it to table QASE.

 

Furthermore, any information what exactly "Number of the task list node" means would be helpful.

Results Recording valuation icon

Has anybody found a way to enhance the valuation icon that is displayed for individual results? The standard is a green check if the result passed and a red X if the results failed. We are wanting a third icon to represent if the result is between 1st upper limit and upper spec, or between 1st lower limit and lower spec (we call these "action limits"). The valuation would still remain accept, we just want a yellow icon or something as a visual warning to the user.

 

We currently have the functionality generating a warning message (very similar to the out of plausibility limits message) via BAdI QE_RESULT_VALUATION,. However, this message is causing problems in a mass inspection point copy transaction we are building. Thanks for your input!

Return to vendor using UD screen for sub contract part

Hi all,

 

We are getting an error while during return to vendor after rejection using UD screen (QA11). This is a subcontract item.

 

The error message is "Incorrect posting back to vendor. error message Of the required quantity of material ABC, X remain(s) open."

 

Basically I understood the error message. System is expecting child part batch number.

 

My question is where to give child part batch number in QA11 screen for this scenario? or how to get out of this error?

audit trail for inspection results

Hello,

 

this is one of those things which in theory should be in place and easy but I can't find it...

 

Let's say that our lab tech Josie is entering results; she's tired and makes a typo. Then upon review this is detected and updated, either by Josie herself or by her supervisor Chris. Other than entering the correct result as an "additional inspection", is there a way to see who entered the erroneous result, when and who it was, and the change?

How to set up formula in inspection characteristic with IF, THEN, ELSE function

  Dear Expert,

 

I need to setup the calculated characteristics for beloe scenario

The first MIC contains the measured temperature.

 

The second MIC shoud calculate, based on the temperature of the first MIC,

 

SAP Standard accepts IF, THEN, ELSE functions in formulas.

 

 

 

My problem is: How can I calculate in one forumla the desribed problem (how has the formula to be set up in detail):

 

If the temperature is between 12.5°C to 16.5°C then give back the value 8.05

 

If the temperature is between 16.6°C to 19.5°C then give back the value 8.03

 

If the temperature is between 19.6°C to 21.0°C then give back the value 8.02

 

If the temperature is between 21.1°C to 23.5°C then give back the value 8.01

 

If the temperature is between 23.6°C to 27.5°C then give back the value 8.00

 

If the temperature is between 27.6°C to 32.5°C then give back the value 7.98

 

Please help to suggest the ways.

Selected set multiple boxes in MIC

I have a query regarding the selected sets assignment in the qualitative mics. While assigning a set to mic, I have seen other boxes there. What are they for? Do they mean I can assign multiple sets to a mic and do the RR based on them.

FM QPL1_INSPECTION_LOT_CREATE pushing wrong MIC's in lot

Hi Guru's

 

In our system in IS Oil- QM integration, there a function module is called for generation of QM inspection lots. FM used is QPL1_INSPECTION_LOT_CREATE. There is a customized check box, when ticked and save the function

module QPL1_INSPECTION_LOT_CREATE is called and an Inspection Lot is created with the parameters obtained.

Now it has been observed that for many lots created though Inspection Plan , Group and Group counter is correct but the MIC assigned are

wrong or system is picking up garbage value..Though there are no changes in Inspection Plan/Master data assigned to material. It seems the standard FM is pushing the MIC's values which are not relevant to the Inspection Lot.

 

Has anyone encountered such Scenario with this FM?  How to Stop the garbage entries  into Inspection lot.

 

Any pointers will be helpful.

Why do materials 'without stock in QI' need Stock posting?

Hi Experts,

 

 

I have one query regarding the Stock posting tab in QA32. I searched a bit in SCN and other forums also but couldn't find a suitable solution.

 

QM is integrated with PP and MM and we use 04 & 01 respectively for different material numbers.

 

For few material in each category (01 & 04), stock is not required in QI and thus 'Post to inspection stock' is not set for respective materials. For such materials, inspection lot is generated without taking the quantity into QI.

 

 

All the materials (HALB and ROH) are set for batch classification and MICs and Class char linking is maintained. Everything works fine from recording the results, UD, Stock posting and inspection result transfer to batch.

 

  • Materials, for which indicator is not set for Post to insp stock, user need to complete the stock posting along with UD to transfer the results into batch master even when stock actually does not move into QI.
  • Problem occurs when UD is given but stock posting not done, because results do not get transferred to batch and System status also remain as SPRQ.
  • To overcome this, we have maintained a UD code with description(Auto stock posting) and set the VMENGE01 To unrestricted use in Posting proposal UD.



My query: 

  • When the stock actually is not taken into QI, why is it required to follow the SP alongwith UD?
  • Is there a way by which I can disable/disappear the Inspection lot stock tab for such material where stock is not needed?
  • Or, stock posting is not needed to be done to transfer the results since stock actually does not move into QI?

Following are the settings which are currently maintained,

  1. Inspection is being done wrt Task lists (Usage 1 & 5 for 04 & 01 insp type respectively.
  2. In QM settings at Plant level, Batch valuation without material spec is set.
  3. Sampling procedure: Fixed sample, Valuation mode is 100 Attributive inspection nonconf. units, no multiple samples !!
  4. Other things like inspection points, DMR etc are not in use.
  5. I have also pasted a snapshot of QA32 and MMBE of same batch/material and storage location to understand the issue better.

I want to change in notification type Q1 in Customer from SP Sold-to-party to SH Ship-to-party.

System is giving error.

The partner funct. entered is not defined in determination procedure Q1

can any body suggest what are the missing factor.

IP19 - Daily/Weekly/Monthly Capacity load

Dear Experts,

 

On report IP19   graphical overview when click on either of the option  Daily / Weekly / Monthly Capacity load button it gives error message

"No capacity display possible owing to incorrect task list data"

 

What could be the issue.
